SLEIGH BELLS RING, ARE YOU LISTENING?

Bought for Aunty and Uncle D circa 1980's

I LOVE Christmas so much I just want to scream!!!  And, I all I want to do is share my joy for the season with you.  There truly is no better time of year to connect with loved ones and dear friends. There are so many ways to pause and reflect, and make the most of the holidays.
First of all just keep it simple. I am thrilled just to have a cup of Christmas Tea or Ho Ho Joe Christmas Coffee with my friends and neighbors. I make the time. It’s easy. Just take a deep breath and remember last year at this time when you got so overwhelmed and you promised yourself not to do it again. Well, here is your golden opportunity. So many of us rush, rush, rush, and for WHAT? The season is about giving and spreading joy. It’s about being happy and light at heart.  I think that is why I am so happy at Christmas time. I feel the rest of the world has an opportunity to feel like I do all the time. So, everyone is aligned, and it’s a spectacular feeling. Even those old Christmas Carols that you hear over and over and the cloves in my tea make me giddy! Not to mention tacos, pretzels, and gum drops on my friend's tree.
Some festive suggestions: Stop by Partridge in a Bear Tree in Newburyport Mass. (And, they are having a grand opening for their second fabulous shop, complete with free champagne punch, at Pickering Wharf in Salem this Saturday, December 12th). It is a guaranteed delight! Tell Kevin Renee sent you.

Just take a look at this place. It is my favorite of favorites…. Partridge in a Bear Tree is so magical you may swoon upon entering…
Decorate your home with love.. For most of us this is easy and so much fun (once it’s done). Order some REAL, original Christmas Tea at Upton Tea. Then sit back and enjoy being home for the holidays….
Christmas inside and out

Custom Design your own Christmas Cards. I do this every year and it’s become a favorite tradition of mine.  Here is one with my beloved late Aunty from the year she passed into heaven. I signed it with love from Renee and her Angel Aunty!
Christmas Card 2011

Sleigh Rides, Strolls, and Horse and Buggy Rides are the best…. Bring your own soundtrack and create what my friends have come to call, “Real Life Movie Moments,” or “Renee-A-Pal-OOZA Christmas.”

With just a tiny bit of effort and releasing your inner child, Christmas time can really be so much fun and a lot less stressful.  Just pay attention to how your pace yourself and make sure to take some time and a few deep breaths to relax and enjoy what Christmas is really is all about.  I promise you from my heart, you will be glad you did. You may not want to go as over the top as I do, but, rise to the occasion just a little bit and your spirits will go along with you! You might even try keeping that open-heartedness and generosity flowing year to year. NOW THAT IS TRULY AGELESS…
Bless us one and all. Amen!

NOVEMBER 18TH 2011, AND, PICTURES ONLY I CAN SEE...

A Love Bigger then the Universe

Please send out a prayer for me! Today, November,18th 2015, is four years since Aunty passed. I am missing her like the sand would miss the ocean. Those who have been following Ageless with Aunty know exactly what I am talking about. That face! Her heart! Her purity…and her LOVE!
I could cry forever (really and truly) BUT…. She wants me joyous and productive.

EVERY SINGLE NIGHT FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS I HAVE LIT THE ETERNAL AUNTY CANDLE! I TALK WITH HER, SMILE, AND THEN GO TO SLEEP. Amen….

With love,
Renee Faith….

This is what I miss…
She even captured Santa's Heart

If I had them available, I would insert pictures here of Aunty holding me when I was just a newborn.
And, a picture of me holding Aunty while she was becoming an angel and entering
heaven. Those flawless images help make me who I am.
Today I have A
Guardian Angel.

THANK YOU AUNTY.
We ALL MISS YOU

A BETTER BEATLES FAN....

with Aaron Krerowicz
Beatles Scholar

What do you do on a cold November, Tuesday evening?! Well, if you are lucky enough to live in an area where Aaron Krerowicz, will speak, then you get in your car and go!  Aaron is the only Full-Time Professional Beatles Scholar in the United States! And, he is utterly fabulous. What a night. This professional Beatles Scholar gave a multimedia presentation on the Beatles. If you are able to make one of his FREE events (the link to his site is below) you will walk away with an even deeper appreciation of the Fab Four, and become an ever better Beatles Fan! Among other things, Aaron analyzes their songs, lyric by lyric, note by note and it’s fascinating…

I shared with the audience my life long affinity for the Beatles which I am glad to say only grows stronger. (See my last post for proof). I told them about how I saw the Beatles live, as a child. And, more recently I was interviewed for a book about the Beatles called “Beatleness,” by Candy Leonard (another Beatles expert). It may sound crazy but, at this point, the Beatles are in my blood.

Author Candy Leonard

At last night’s event, this Beatles scholar told us more about Yoko (her name means child of the ocean) George Martin (he was the one who wanted a different drummer, other than Pete Best, for recordings), and Aaron even had some amazing audio clips of Beatles interviews. The Beatles made magic. They had chemistry and a charisma (aside from the music itself) that allowed them to stay together for a decade! Now, that music and the Beatles themselves are enduring and timeless.

As enjoyable and informative as the evening was, the highlight was the Beatles Music. I still get chills when I hear certain songs. Some of Aaron’s favorite songs are For the Benefit of Mr. Kite, and I am the Walrus. Not my two favorites, but, full disclosure here; I have not really paid all that much attention to just how innovative the Beatles were musically.  I absolutely love THE MUSIC, but, I was always more caught up in the Beatlemania, even recently when I saw Ringo up close. I was in an actual frenzy!

A night with Aaron (highly recommended) will give you much more insight into the genius of the music and even more appreciation of this “once-in-a-lifetime cultural force!”

 Goo goo k’joob!

For all us millions of Beatles Fans, Aaron has a website and has written books on the Beatles and more. Just go to: http://www.aaronkrerowicz.com/ he will tell you anything you want to know about John, Paul, George, and Ringo. IMAGINE....Aaron very generously gives you a chance to become an even better Beatles Fan then you were the Night Before....

I am sure there are many, but, what is One of your favorite Beatles Song? I would love to know....
Mentioned right above, The Night Before is one of mine, and  I'm Happy Just to Dance with You....

HE SAW ME STANDING THERE!

"Oh My God! Oh My God!" Those were the only words to come out of my mouth! I mean what other words are there to express the epitome of joy when you are standing face to face with a Beatle?! Yes, you heard that right…A Beatle!  To be more exact, Ringo Starr of the Beatles...

His show this past Friday night at the Boston Wang Center was sold out. I had no ticket.  I showed up at the box office any way. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity when a Beatle comes to your neighborhood. After forty minutes in the cold, and two minutes before curtain my friend and I scored two tickets for forty dollars each (all we had on us). The catch was we couldn’t sit together. My extraordinarily generous friend gave me the 150.00 orchestra ticket! I was getting closer to the dream (to see one of the Beatles up close) beat by beat…

We could hear the music starting and the fans screaming! Before I even had a chance to tell my friend we can share the seats he was gone…way up to his seat in the last row. But, At least we were in, and so I scurried towards my seat.

The first song was the rousing “Matchbox!” It’s fabulous and I vividly remember it from the Beatles Album “Something New!”  I simply could not contain myself and so, instead of going directly to my seat, I made a fast detour down the aisle and stood a few feet away from the stage. In all the sheer excitement (A Beatle in the house) no one stopped me. There I was. Ringo Starr was looking right at me. I was overcome with pure bliss. It was like my shoes had springs and I was standing on stilts. Any more of a natural high might be illegal. That opening song “Matchbox,” brought me immediately back to my youth and Big Time Beatlemania! Then he went right into “It Don’t Come Easy!” Ringo's good karma permeated the place…
The show was super incredible and his “All Starr Band” was stellar.  Each member of his band is famous in their own right. They played some incredible songs from their own bands like O Ye Como Va, and Rosanna, to Todd Rundgren’s I Saw the Light. I just couldn’t sit down. But, we were all there to see and hear Ringo. And, when I say hear, I would have paid money just to HEAR him speak. He’s RINGO!!!!You recognize the voice instantly and your knees go weak.  When he played “Yellow Submarine” and “I Get By with a Little Help From My Friends”…I made a mad dash and leaped towards the stage! I HAD TO PAY MY HOMAGE. In the realm of songs and superstars this was the Big Band!
Since I stood only a few feet away from Ringo, (see third picture down) I can actually say he saw me standing there! How could he not? I was jumping up and down. And, when I wasn’t screaming, I was bowing and making peace signs. I was in full glee and glory!  It felt like my entire life and the exuberance and reverence I have for the music were condensed in those few minutes. This phenomenal night was all the more special having seen the Beatles (with Aunty and Uncle D no less) when I was eight years old and stayed a fan for the rest of my life. And , there I was all these years later standing before Ringo, AND, indirectly the Beatles, again! I am so grateful.

DEAR RENEE!

Dear Renee…

You have worked so hard on your product development and I know your name is in the word ENTREPRENEUR so,  I AM glad to announce that I am writing you a check for $100,000 so you can bring your product to life and sell it around the world. I wholeheartedly believe in your message. I have even read all your old blog posts and I must say, I love the connection to your late Aunty. Looks to me like you have an angel on your shoulder as you reach for the stars. Your product and its empowering message will make a lot of people happy. I am so glad I ran into you at Ernie Boch’s party (he’s very cool isn’t he) otherwise I may not have had this wonderful opportunity to invest in someone as creative as you. I know you’ve got a First Class and Spectacular Brand Brewing. Thanks Ernie! By the way, I am thinking of asking him to be my running mate. Many say he’s as popular as I am!
at Ernie Boch's Bash

I will have my secretary send out the check today. And, next time I am in Boston I would love to see how your product is coming along. I am sure before you know it you will be featured in Specialty  boutiques, Barney’s, Neiman’s, Yoga Studios, and select catalogs. Make sure you have enough inventory so I can feature your item in select Trump Properties too. This is surely the NEXT “IT” item! Quite frankly, I think it’s the best darn product I have ever seen! I may end up buying every one myself if Oprah doesn't beat me to it. This will be Oprah’s favorite THING EVER! And, I am so sure of it I would be willing to bet a cool billion...

And, last but not least, when your product sells out as I am sure it will, just give me a call and I will send you the cash for more inventory. A hundred thousand dollars is like one buck to me. Or should I say six figures are like ten cents. Either way, I believe in you kid!  You are the hardest working, visionary entrepreneur I have ever met! And, thanks to me, you’ll be bootstrapping and struggling no more. You’ll be tap dancing your way to fame and fortune. Your true destiny! Just don’t forget to give back..

                                                               The Donald

Thanks Donald, I won’t…..I am working hard, keeping the vision, and following my dream...I plan to uplift, empower and inspire as many people as I can!

This is not a real letter. I do apologize to those of you who may have thought so. It appears TRUE because I clearly visualize someone like Mr. Trump (some smart Angel Investor) coming forward any day now after seeing the Staggering Potential in the Brand I have brewing. However, I did run into Mr. Trump at Ernie's grand party over the summer. And everything about my product is true!

WE'VE GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN OUR HANDS...

I am one of the millions affected by the Pope’s visit to America. Pope Francis (I like to call him Papa Francis) is a man of compassion and humility. He is casting a glow of love and hope all across this country and literally gracing us with his visit. People are moved to tears by seeing him. When I hear his voice I feel like I am hearing the voice of God and goodness. It’s quite humbling and moving. I find myself pulling my chair closer to the TV. I want to be as close as I can get.

This morning I heard journalists praising him. David Brooks said, “Hearts are opened by his visit!” Another declared “Souls are gushing!” And, I heard Andrea Mitchell say we “ Must see his prayer at ground zero.” Pope at Ground Zero

All this makes me happy. I love to see good energy being emitted across my country and the world. And, something tells me, all kinds of people from all walks of life are being touched by the Holy Father’s presence, actions, and prayers. I am certain, many are making changes in their own lives after witnessing this man’s undeniable goodness and selfless humility.

What I like best of all about Papa Francis’s visit is what I call the mirror affect. WE can all be like mini-popes. In fact we are. Like him we are human beings. Like him many of us have a strong faith. And like him and most of humanity, we are good at heart. Is there any reason we cannot take it upon ourselves to keep cultivating this love and compassion like he exemplified?  That goodness  and purity DOESN’T HAVE TO STOP when he leaves! Think about continuing where he left off when he boards his plane and waves his holy hand goodbye. Imagine all of us carrying on in our daily lives a bit more Pope-like!" What a wonderful thank you gift to him and each other! Being kind is why we are here. And, for anyone who may struggle or resist becoming a better human being, perhaps we could make a plea to the news stations to continue showing clips of the Pope’s visit to remind us. Seeing is believing.

Collectively as citizens, human beings, pilgrims, and people, we just have to do more to help each another and take a bit more responsibility for our actions in this life . The Pope brought the word “SERVICE” (a word foreign to many) front and center. He singlehandedly resurrected it!  Now, If everyone who watched the Pope starts becoming more compassionate today, tomorrow, next week, or next year, then that can be our way of continuing the loving momentum that Papa Francis started. He clearly and simply demonstrated that we have the ability of empowering our own humanity. WE cannot leave all the self-sacrificing for him! For me personally, before the Pope’s visit I had already started visiting nursing homes and the elderly and I will continue.  I would like to thank those of you who already are in in synch with the Pope and treating others as you would like to be treated. And, I bow to those of you, like my late Aunty who always put others first! That IS the Holy Spirit...

Take a moment to reflect on the Holy Father’s voice, his actions, the images, and the goodness in your own heart. My prayer is that we all see the goodness in ourselves and that even more importantly,  we let go of our ego's even a little bit and do more to emulate the Pope by reaching out to those less fortunate. I pray that each one of us can make the world smile in any little or big way we are blessed to do. We can actually raise the good vibrations of this planet. We must keep this glowing goodness going and growing for the sake of every breathing human being in this world today, tomorrow, and eternally. Thank you Papa!

LUNCH WITH GEORGE CLOONEY (REALLY)!

I am amazed and enthralled with this Utterly Fab company out West, called OMAZE!
They actually give away a chance at Experiences like Hanging out with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck! A role in the MOVIE STAR WARS VII! Play Cricket on the Set of Downton Abbey with the CAST! Ride in an RV with Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad, etc. etc. etc... Yes, every prize is staggeringly swoon worthy! And, best of all with NO STRINGS ATTACHED and ALL for Worthy Causes.

I have been in the running for some of these Wow-factor experiences (like lunch with George) and its thrilling. I may not have won (yet), but, I think it's the MOST FUN and EXCITEMENT ten dollars can buy!  Not to mention the money raised goes to very good causes like UNICEF, Women's Cancer Programs, and, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They have set it up perfectly so we are helping each other.

Let's be real.....somebody is going to win. It could be me. And, it certainly can be YOU!

In their own words (the two savvy geniuses who came up with all this)..

A little while back, we went to a benefit that Magic Johnson hosted for the Boys & Girls Club of America, where he auctioned off the chance to sit with him courtside at a Lakers game and join him for dinner after. We could barely contain ourselves. We are die hard Laker fans and Magic was our childhood hero. Hanging with him for a night would literally be a dream come true.
But this dream was not to be. As a couple of broke grad students, we could only watch helplessly as the bids escalated until the experience ultimately cleared for $15,000.
Driving home we couldn’t let it go. Why should life’s most amazing experiences only be available to a select few? And worse, how could a prize which, in our minds, was priceless only raise $15,000 for the Boys & Girls Club?
And that’s when a simple idea hit us. What if we made these same types of opportunities available online, and for a $10 donation everyone could have a chance at winning? We could help generate significantly more money and awareness for deserving causes, and all people could share the chance to live out dream experiences.
And that’s how Omaze was born.
Picture yourself as a REAL Jedi!

A SIP OF LIFE...

Think about how you wake up each morning. Are you hitting the snooze button, rushing to get ready for work, skipping breakfast or forgetting to do something? Transforming your morning from chaos to tranquility can have a profound effect on the rest of your day, and this meditation technique can help you develop that habit. A morning tea meditation is a beautiful mindful exercise that reminds you to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. It allows you to start your day the way you'd like it to go!

  1. Set up an area or sacred space for your tea ritual. Set up a chair and table area where you can have your tea, crystals and fresh flowers. Avoid reading the newspaper or a magazine, using your cell phone or unnecessary clutter.
  2. Choose your tea, favorite mug and/or sweetener, and place them all out on the table.
  3. Fill a kettle or pot with water, and place it on the stove to boil. As the water is boiling, don't do anything else. Just sit with patience.
  4. When the kettle whistles, slowly pour hot water over your tea leaves or bag, and add any additions you would like.
  5. Sit at the area you designated for your tea ceremony.
  6. Before you take a sip, take a moment and give thanks for the cup of tea in front of you. So often, we take for granted the little things we encounter each day, but we are so fortunate to have them.
  7. Enjoy your tea. To feel the power of this exercise, drink it slowly. Savor each sip, tasting the different flavors that exist in the tea. Feel each sip as it hits your lips and tongue, and how it soothes your throat, stomach and soul.
As you finish your tea, give thanks again. Continue in a seated meditation for as little or as long as you'd like. Give thanks for all of the little things that make up your day.

This post is 100% courtesy of Energy Muse www.energymuse.com
And if you are like me, after the pause, reflection, and thanks you can play some great tea music like Tommy Dorsey When I take My Sugar to Tea....

Happy Sipping~

MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH A CERTAIN BEER...

A HIP HOP
If you are going to fall in love why not fall in love with someone or something that can inspire you, intrigue you, make you giddy, and fill you up with joy….
Well, Brother Thelonious did just that. The story goes like this. I was walking by this neat little liquor store (Needham Center Fine Wines to be exact). They had the most incredible display in the window. This beer stood out and sold out. The beer was Brother Thelonious Belgian Style Abbey Ale. On the bottle there is a drawing of the late great Jazz Pianist Thelonious Monk.  It’s a hip sketch like the man himself. The bottle alone was enticing. I went into the store to learn more. I found out it’s from award winning North Coast Brewing Co and it’s a top notch brew. I had to try some.
When I got home I poured my new friend into a tall glass and immediately liked the rich amber color. When I tasted it I flipped.  There were hints of vanilla, caramel, and clove! This was the hippest, coolest, best tasting beer on earth!  It may have been inspired by an icon, with an artist painting his picture on the bottle, but, the beer is the real work of art here! I turned up the music and my spirits.
I drink very responsibly and creatively.  Now, each Friday night I take a different glass, from short, tall, fancy, and even from the bottle itself, and, I indulge in a BT; feet up, and relaxing before Shark Tank, or, as I get ready for a night out.  This beer excites me and makes me happy!
Please try this hip hop today.  And, there is even more….
North Coast Brewing Co. is proud to partner with the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz in support of Jazz education. The Brewery makes a donation to the Institute for every bottle of Brother Thelonious Belgian Style Abbey Ale sold. And, these generous brewers will be at the Newport Jazz Festival this weekend, August 1-2.  Why not head on over and listen to some sublime sounds while sipping this extraordinary ale. Summer just doesn’t get any better than this.  I say that from the vantage point of much experience. I haven’t missed the Newport Jazz Festival in over twenty years! Like the beer here, this event and the caliber of music is simply first class and spectacular! Taste and hear for yourself…. And always drink responsibly!

p.s. The skeleton in the drawing on the label represents our mortality...in other words life is short! ENJOY IT!

THOUSAND DOLLAR SEATS FOR FREE...

A look at the stage set up
for U2's current tour!!!

When I showed up to the TD Garden Saturday night thousands of lucky U2 ticket holders marched into the sold out show. Tickets for the July 10th show had gone on sale more than six months ago, and, sold out so fast they kept adding more shows. All four shows sold out pronto. U2 is a particularly fabulous band to see live. As one reviewer said, “They are the special effect.”  I have had the distinct privilege of seeing this lively and powerful Irish rock and roll band four times (the first time was 1980 at their very first Boston show). But, this past Saturday was different. I had no ticket. It had been years since I had seen Adam, Larry, Bono and The Edge. I missed them.
Believing I would somehow get in I wore my tee-shirt from their 1981 October Tour for good luck. Being such a loyal and longtime fan and, feeling so connected to their unbelievable energy and longevity, something very good was bound to happen!
The lads in earlier days

I was with a dear friend who had not yet seen U2 live. My friend said “I’ll wait here while you do your thing.” This “thing” is wheeling and dealing and I have been told, often making impossible things happen. Turns out the only tickets left were being sold by scalpers at two hundred dollars a pop for the last row section. I was three hundred and ten dollars short. And even though we only had ninety dollars between us I couldn't picture myself in the last row. Things were not looking too good. Even every lone ticket at the window was gone and the scarce scalpers were selling out too. But, I believed I would find a way in and my friend believed in me!  I saw myself being handed a ticket…
After an hour of patiently pacing outside of the venue the scalpers were looking at me like well, you tired but, it’s not going to happen. One of them whispered to their buddy looking over at me, “This one doesn’t give up.” I was polite and honest. I simply told the truth. "I would love to get in but I have very little money." Earlier I had turned down two obstructed view tickets with the offer "give me whatever you've got."  I was starting to regret that I had passed on that. At this point we couldn’t even get two separate seats, or obstructed ones! Yet, I was so happy just to be there and for all those who actually had tickets. I knew what they were in for...a band that lovingly lifts you up so high and holds you there in the palm of their hands!
Just as I walked back to assure my friend who was hanging out on the sidelines that I wasn’t giving up, the woman who had been selling the obstructed view tickets came over to me and asked again. Before I could answer, my kind ticket angel just handed them to me and said “Take them they are free! They're yours!” I was completely stunned!
I just stood there and yelled to the couple as they ran into the concert… “God Bless you!” I blew them a kiss. I really couldn’t believe it (even though on some level I had envisioned this ultra-lucky windfall).
One "hot ticket," that's me

We floated in. My friend practically skipping. And I was in my full glee and glory. I live for moments like this when everything is perfectly aligned and you are right there aligned with it all. It’s so empowering. It’s quite a rush and a real natural high.
We knew our section was literally in the last row of the last section behind the stage, so, naturally I kept walking the other direction. We strutted across the lobby and saw a black curtain that seemed to be calling. With all the confidence I had I pushed it open and casually walked over (bypassing two ushers) and sat down in what had to be a five hundred dollar seat in an area near the side of the stage! My friend followed suit. We carried on as if the seats were actually ours.  The roaring show started. Two of the best seats in the house were ours.

Twenty thousand screaming, rousing U2 fans just went nuts as Bono and the band came in from the back and just walked through the crowds via a long runway. It was amazing. It was spellbinding. It was rock and roll at its finest! If a soul can soar, mine  did that evening!
When they serenaded us with songs like I Will Follow, Where the Streets Have No Name, and Even Better Than the Real Thing, I had chills from head to toe. I had both hands in the air and was living life as much in the moment as possible. I felt like I could fly. My shy and reserved friend was dancing, and singing and running up to take close ups of the band, which I will eventually post here.
The night was extraordinary and so was the band. I was grateful to my ticket angel, that my friends believe I am magic, and, that I didn’t give up! I had a super superior summer night that with the help of ONE ginormous video screen seemed to bring the past, present and future together perfectly. It was an awe-inspiring experience and all it cost was five dollars for some water. All that screaming, the will to succeed, and being so close to Bono makes one thirsty you know. At that point five dollars for a small bottle of water seemed like the deal of the century compared to thousand dollar seats for free!
